The Apple Box is a familiar sight on film and photography sets, a versatile tool pressed into endless service as a seat, step ladder, table, or pedestal. We have elevated it to icon status, like Le Corbusier, rendering it in Baltic birch plywood with rich color on all sides. The simple form evokes the sleek minimalism of Judd and the palette of Barragán. Use it wherever it comes in handy. Handcrafted in the USA.

Each box in the Artist Series carries a sixth panel that sets it apart, whether an original painting, an archival photograph, or a signature graphic treatment.

The Editions

  • Mara De Luca (1/1 Edition): One panel painted by Mara De Luca, a former Monira Foundation resident with solo exhibitions in Los Angeles and New York.
  • Iris Kufert-Rivo (1/1 Edition): One panel painted by Iris Kufert-Rivo, whose geometric compositions of straight edge, tape, and palette knife reveal the hand of the artist. Exhibited widely over 35 years, most recently at the Billis Williams Gallery in Los Angeles.
  • Antonio Murado (1/1 Edition): One panel painted by the Spanish artist Antonio Murado, known for layered, impastoed abstractions of landscapes and flowers. His work is held in the permanent collections of the Museo de Bellas Artes and the Centro Galego de Arte Contemporánea.
  • Englishman (Photography Series, Ilan Rubin): Bust of an Englishman by Peter Anton, 1740, photographed by Ilan Rubin. Dye sublimation print on aluminum, finished in dark and light grey.
